Jacob Wool from Tamarisk Farm

Tamarisk Farm, situated along Dorset’s breathtaking Jurassic Coast, is one of Britain’s oldest certified organic farms and a trusted supplier of heritage wool for Nafi’s heirloom textile collection. The Jacob wool used in our Wool Heritage Blankets comes from their regeneratively raised flock of traditional sheep breeds, nurtured with deep respect for land, animals, and ecological balance.

Naturally Dyed by Nature – A Tweedy Wool with Depth

The Jacob sheep at Tamarisk produce a richly textured fleece, naturally tweedy in character. Their wool blends black and white fibres to form a nuanced spectrum of undyed greys—from soft off-white to deep charcoal. Unlike chemically processed yarns, Tamarisk’s wool is carded and spun on-site, preserving the natural integrity of the fibres and producing a lively, authentic texture that’s perfect for artisan weaving.

Sustainable, Regenerative, and Fully Traceable

Tamarisk Farm practices regenerative farming, supporting biodiversity, healthy soils, and ethical animal care. Every fleece is fully traceable, from pasture to finished product, allowing Nafi customers to connect with the origins of their textiles. This approach ensures transparency, supports small-scale British farming, and helps protect rare sheep breeds like the Jacob.

A Fibre with Meaning and Comfort

Jacob wool has a slightly relaxed handle and good staple length, making it durable, breathable, and comfortable—ideal for blankets that are meant to be used, loved, and passed down. By choosing Tamarisk Farm wool, Nafi supports not only sustainable craft but also a living tradition of British wool production that’s rooted in land, heritage, and care.

This is more than wool, it’s a story woven into every thread.

From Farm to Fibre — Fully Traceable Wool

With FibreTrace® technology, we’ve built a fully traceable, ethical wool supply chain—local, regenerative, and transparent from farm to finished product.

Each batch of wool is marked at shearing with a luminescent, invisible pigment, allowing it to be tracked through every stage of processing. This ensures we can scientifically verify the origin and journey of our wool, supporting every sustainability claim with evidence and giving you complete confidence in the authenticity of your purchase.
